My Introduction to Abraham

by farnaz

When my first Abraham book arrived (The Law of Attraction: The Basics of the Teachings of Abraham), I was so excited. I could feel this was the type of book I would finish in one sitting. I couldn’t wait to devour all the knowledge that could potentially change my life. At this stage I did not know that Abraham was not one person, but a group of consciousness from the non-physical dimension channelled by Esther Hicks. And frankly, as soon as I found out that minor detail, I was really creeped out. In fact, I was so uncomfortable with the idea of channelling, ghosts or anything non-physical, the book went straight onto my bookshelf. I needed time to digest what I had just read. And the book sat there for many weeks until I finally made a decision to pick it up again. I decided that I had nothing to lose by reading it. Regardless of who the authors were, if it could be of benefit to me then it was worth reading. And I could always give it away if I didn’t see any results. Going forward you will notice Abraham being referred to in plural, because they refer to themselves as a group of loving entities. So I started to read, re-read and more importantly, apply their teachings in my daily life.

While I didn’t understand all of the material, most of the practices were incredibly useful, especially Segment Intending. I began using Segment Intending every day, and achieved some amazing successes in my professional relationships with managers and co-workers. Later in this chapter; I will explain how I personally practise Segment Intending.

The more I applied their teachings, the more abundance I was able to manifest and the more interested I became. But it wasn’t until I attended an Abraham Hicks conference in Sydney where I got to watch the incredible manner in which Abraham speaks through Esther Hicks that I really understood that Abraham is infinite intelligence. There were thousands of people in the audience with raised hands, eager to ask their own unique questions. But there was not enough time in one day to have ever y question asked. Yet Abraham was able to intelligently answer the questions of a few people in such a way that ever yone else’s questions were also answered. I certainly had all my questions answered, without having to ask any. Watching Abraham live really helped solidify their love and intelligence in my eyes.

So if you have problem with channelling, as I did, here are some tips from Abraham themselves:

“You could leave the channelling out of it. Call it inspiration; that’s all it is. You don’t call the basketball player a channeller, but he is; he’s an extension of Source Energy. You don’t call the surgeon a channeller, but he is. You don’t call the musician, the magnificent master musician, you don’t call him a channeller, but he is. He’s channelling the broader essence of who he is into the specifics of what he is about.” (Abraham-Hicks.com.)

Going forward, I will refer to the universal creative force as Consciousness, Source Energy or just Source. It is what I am most comfortable with. You may like to refer to this energy as God, Allah, Universe, Spirit, Essence, Inner Being, insert-whatever-you-like-here. It is really up to you and I would recommend you stick with whatever connotation feels better.

What word are you most comfortable with? How do you refer to the energy thats bigger than yours?

Hello,
I am French and I read your blog once in a while since a year
but I finally took the courage to buy your book
I already had success in my healing before, but felt I needed support and having someone saying me i am right about what i am doing really help
I doubt a lot since I never had support in my life since I was a child, so every time I go back to the book it reassures me
I felt angry to let me be helped, I always had to deal alone with life and to mistrust people because of all the bad treatment I received even before my birth, but in the same time I felt culpability to have bad thoughts for people, because since childhood I felt people are good and I be taught that I am the problem
I feels that I am a bad person to think bad about people and life
and then I feels like life will punish me to not believing on it

My bigger difficulties is to let go the anxiety
I lived too much loneliness and terror
I see a lot of my problems disapearing but then suddenly after two years, I feel terror again
I do my best to keep my thoughts on the good but it s like I need to express this terror feeling to cry a lot

I do not know what is the best to do here
Is it good to ignore the bad feelings even when it s painful and seems unable to be released just by ignoring it
I try to do many good things to thinks of something else but the fear is herem come back, wake me up
I know I have nothing to fear

I am happy to have your book, I feels more and more at ease to read it, and I accept more and more that i am not weak if someone help me to heal
Thank you a lot

Hello F.W

You sound very strong and capable, it seems you are going in the right direction by paying attention to how you feel and wanting to feel good.
I am so happy that my book has helped you!
I don’t think you can ignore bad feelings. Remember that you feel bad because of bad thoughts, and you can’t “ignore bad thoughts”, you can only think better feeling thoughts. Have you tried replacing these bad feeling thoughts with better ones?
The fear is also related to your thoughts. If you can’t replace the bad thoughts, try to turn your attention and focus to subjects that feel better for you. Try to spend more time in nature or with animals or with kids. They have good energy and when we feel bad, they have the power to uplift us.
Of course you hold all the power to uplift yourself, but sometimes you forget how powerful you are.
Your anxiety will disappear as you start to feel better. Try to love yourself more and be good to yourself. I think we all need to get better at loving our inner child and giving it what it what we did not get as children.

You are very powerful F.W! Remember that! You have manifested this book into your experience and in the same way you can manifest anything else your heart desires!
